Domestic duties are bad for the intimate life of men
According to a new study conducted at the Juan March Institute, helping a wife around the house negatively affects sexual life.
Scientists analyzed data from 4561 couples older than 20 years from the United States, reports Meddaily. They found that men who performed traditionally female duties were less likely to have sex.
Under traditionally female duties researchers understood, for example, cleaning the kitchen and washing dishes. The analysis showed that men took on about 55% of men's tasks, such as paying bills or mowing the lawn. Study participants who stopped spending time doing household chores had sex one and a half times more often than those who continued to help their wives.
Men who performed female duties seemed to the fair sex less sexy. According to researchers, couples who share similar responsibilities see each other as brothers and sisters rather than lovers.
